This book is the product of more than 25 years of research on toolstone materials in the Ozarks. The book also has three appendices, including color illustrations of the major types and varieties of lithic resources that were used prehistorically. The publication is available for purchase by contacting the MAS office. Purchase price is $45.

This “webliography” is intended to aid in this endeavor, providing links not only to archaeological sites of value to lithic archaeologists, but also to relevant sites from those other fields as well.

Northwest Research Obsidian Studies Laboratory

This catalog is maintained by Northwest Research Obsidian Studies Laboratory to provide support and information for the archaeology community in general. Geoarchaeological and geochemical investigations of obsidian sources and artifacts are an area of active research and new sources are being located, relocated, and geochemically identified on a regular basis.
